Hi! My name is Eman Askar and I’m a scriptwriter, songwriter, video creator, VO artist, among other things 🙂 Am I bragging? Absolutely not!
For so long, having multiple job interests was like a curse that haunted me. A little talented in each but never excellent in any! Until I embraced my “multipotentiality” and unleashed all my talents in the mighty form of content creation. I determined the goals I want to achieve through my content and broke free of limitations on HOW I can create them.
Luckily, my previous jobs taught me a lot about what I needed to get started. For 11 years, I’ve been professionally helping entities tell their stories, spread their messages and communicate complicated information in creative, simple and entertaining ways. Let me show you a glimpse of my journey:
It all started with my 5 year long job as a science communicator with Nutty Scientists where I would create and perform shows for children that help them understand scientific concepts while having fun! Then, for the following 5 years, I gained experience in the media industry when I worked in the creative team of Axeer studioand Giraffics. There, I was able to utilize my creative storytelling talents in a more corporate/ commercial context; writing creative concepts for commercial ads and scripts for professional infographic videos. I also enjoyed recording VO’s for a variety of projects and learned how to create impact with stories thanks to contributing in several awareness campaigns for UNICEF, UN Women, CARE, and more.

In the second half of 2020, I was ready to unleash more of my creative energy and so, I decided to continue my professional content creation work on a freelance basis to have enough time for my recent baby project: Emma’s World.
In Emma’s World, I get to tell stories in many different ways, such as singing/songwriting, acting, and short energetic videos.
My mission is to inspire individuals to become the best versions of themselves and eventually help in building a healthier community that is able to work together for a better future. First, my plan was to simply tell inspiring stories, spread motivational messages and explain game changing topics, all through my songs and videos. Then, one of my songs, “The story of Palestine”, went viral on an international level which gave me the opportunity of a bigger and more diverse audience. This motivated me into adding “bridging cultural gaps and building international friendships” to my list of “to do’s”. My longterm plan for achieving this is, through hosting workshops and retreats (online and offline) that can help build closer friendships within the community of Emma’s World.
On a personal level, despite looking young, I’m actually a mom of two and I share this part of my life in my content every now and then. My beautiful kids are 8 year old Fayrouz (girl) and 3 year old Adam (boy).

Every single day, I was either scripting, shooting, editing, publishing or reading/getting training to learn about any of these. At first my reward was the release of my creative energy but with time, it got a little bit demotivating to be honest. The only feedback I had was the number of followers and audience engagement and it wasn’t doing very well for so long. Some days were frustrating and lonely but other days, I got my energy back again just by reading a comment or two by people who found some value in my content. Consequently, my reward became the impact I had on my small yet appreciated number of followers.
Long story short, just like every week, I posted a video in May 2021 but it wasn’t like anything else I’ve ever posted. This video changed my life.
I was emotionally invested in events happening in Palestine that escalated to Israel’s bombing of Gaza (again) and I was tired of the way it was handled on the news. I only wanted to provide the right context for “Palestine”. Just like all my videos, I had a thought and/or an emotion that was provoking me enough to let it out in a video so I simply wrote a song called “The story of Palestine” where I explained the history of Palestine and Israel’s occupation of its land in 90 seconds. This was the only song that couldn’t wait to be produced in a studio or have a well made music video for. I just had to let it out and so I recorded it while sitting on my desk in my bedroom. Aaaaaand it went viral! Two days later, it had more than 11 million views, I had more than 100k followers on instagram AND I was overwhelmed with journalists’ messages wanting to interview me! ME! Man, that was one big reward and so.. a new chapter began..
